Paris Hilton has denied rumours that she was enacting a Nazi salute in recent photographs.
Pictures surfaced online on Sunday which showed the socialite partying aboard a yacht in St. Tropez while wearing a red military hat, using her finger to improvise an Adolph Hitler-esque moustache and giving a Sieg Heil salute.
However, a rep for Hilton slammed the photos, stating that they were misleading and insisting that the 29-year-old did not intend to offend, reports the Daily Mail.
"Paris was dancing and having fun with her arm up in the air as she always dances like that and was scratching [her] face when a photo was taken," a statement said.
"The hat was not a communist hat, it's a military-style hat from a club. Half of her family is Jewish and many of her friends are as well."
Hilton has recently faced trouble after being stopped twice for alleged drug possession.
