Heather Graham loves Tantric sex

Hollywood actress Heather Graham is a self-confessed practitioner of Tantric sex. But her opinion of the esoteric ritual has angered a few Hindus in the US.

In an interview to The Mail, Graham, who is best known for her role in Gus Van Sant’s ‘Drugstore Cowboy’, revealed how much she loves and appreciates Tantric sex. She also claimed that Tantic sex is not a continuous act and one can indulge in several activities such as bathing and listening to music during the act.“What most people know about Tantric sex is that Sting (the English singer) does it and it lasts eight hours. But he is not having sex continually. You can take a bath, massage your partner, listen to music. The idea is that you let the whole thing build very slowly until finally you merge with your partner. It works for me,” Heather said in the interview.

However, what Miss Graham skipped to mention was that Tantric sex was not just an end in itself but a means for divine communion. This “narrow” opinion of the actress has angered an eminent Hindu priest in the US. “Hindus welcomed Hollywood bigwigs to immerse in Hinduism, but taking it seriously and not just flirting with its terminology and concepts and using it as a fashion statement,” Rajan Zed, an Indian-American Hindu priest in Nevada is quoted to have said in a statement.According to Zed, Graham is misinterpreting the Tantric ritual as just sex.
