The PSPgo will be dropped in the UK, according to a report.
A source has told MCV that production of the handheld has been halted, and no new supplies will be provided to retailers.
Although similar reports have emerged for Japan, Sony has denied the claims and insists the device is "in demand".
"It is a very exciting time for PlayStation portable devices," said a spokesperson. "Before the end of the year we are launching NGP, our next generation portable device, which we believe will revolutionise portable gaming.
"In the meantime, the current generation of PSPs continue to be in demand, especially since the introduction of our value for money, Essentials range of games, and we will continue to meet that demand."
Earlier this month Sony lowered the price of the PSP across Europe, and confirmed that its Music Unlimited service would be coming on the handheld shortly.
