Female boxer and model Sarah Blewden has been banned from competing as an amateur boxer, as constant blows can act as a danger to her breast implants.
Boxing chiefs banned Blewden, 25, following warnings that repeated blows could damage her breast tissue.
Blewden, who hoped to compete in the 2012 Olympics, had a boob op in 2003 taking her from a 32B to 32C.
Blewden, who turned to boxing 2 years ago to keep fit, was dazed that despite her talent, she was banned by the Amateur Boxing Association.
“It is ridiculous. My surgeon said they make me no more vulnerable than any woman. They are not enormous and they are gel so won”t burst, the Mirror quoted Blewden as saying.
Medics insisted that her boobs were at risk of contraction or distortion if hit, as cells in tissue pushed forward by the implants could also be harmed.
“International rules forbid anyone with breast implants continuing to box, ABA’’s Tony Attwood said.
Blewden runs a salon apart from training as a boxer.
